Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer

Dr. Kimberly A. Steide serves as the Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer for the Department of the Treasury. She is responsible for overseeing the full scope of human capital programs for the Departments 110,000+ workforce. Partnering with the Chief Human Capital officer, she establishes strategic direction and priorities for the human capital organization.

Prior to returning to Treasury, Dr. Steide served as the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary (ADAS) for Human Capital at the Department of Health and Human Services overseeing department wide policies and programs in support of the Departments 90,000 employees. During her tenure, she led efforts to sustain the Departments ranking as the #2 Best Places to Work for Large Agencies as ranked by the Partnership for Public Service. Additionally, led efforts to increase the use of shared certificates and the hiring of Military-Connected Servicemembers. Increasing the hiring of Military Spouses by 36%.

During her Initial tenure with Treasury, Dr. Steide served as the Director of Strategy, Evaluation, and Analytics. Before joining Treasury, Dr. Steide worked for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Homeland Security in roles that included workforce analysis and program evaluation in positions with increasing scope and complexity.

Dr. Steide spent eight years in the private sector as a recruitment manager focusing on technical and manufacturing professionals. She is also a veteran of the U.S. Army, where she served in a variety of roles for eight years.

Dr. Steide is a graduate of the Partnership for Public Service's Excellence in Government Fellows Program and holds a Doctor of Public Administration from Capella University and a Master of Science in Managerial Leadership from National Louis University.
